So who among Indiana’s politicians is pledging what, to whom?
I got a press release from Americans for Prosperity Indiana yesterday touting U.S. Rep. Luke Messer, R-6th District, for signing the group’s No Climate Tax pledge. AFP is the conservative anti-tax group founded with support of the conservative Koch brothers. The pledge is to “oppose legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue,” like a tax on carbon emissions.
The list of signatories to the AFP initiative (look here for the complete roster) includes U.S. Sen. Dan Coats, R-Indiana. U.S. reps from Indiana who have signed, aside from Messer, include Marlin Stutzman, R-3rd; Todd Rokita, R-4th; Larry Bucshon, R-8th; and Todd Young, R-9th.
Not on the list are Elkhart County’s U.S. rep, GOPer Jackie Walorski, and U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly, a Democrat.
